Not So Bright House
Much has been made over the last few days about an infamous survey conducted by Bright House Networks in Hillsborough County Florida. Good Bye, SkypeOut

The Devil Wears Prada
One week after the announcement of Apple's iPhone the first clone exists (LG Prada):

SEOUL, South Korea - South Korea's LG Electronics Co. said Thursday it is launching a new mobile phone that incorporates a buttonless touch-screen that resembles the much-hyped Apple Inc. iPhone _ and will be in stores next month.

LG's Prada Phone is being produced in partnership with the Italian fashion brand. It is set to go on sale in late February for 600 euros ($780) at mobile phone dealers and Prada stores in Britain, France, Germany and Italy, and comes to Asia in March.

KE850: no button interface with touch-sensitive screen, MP3-player, 2 megapixel camera, EDGE, memory on cards, a bit more expensive, but available much earlier (and not locked to AT&T)

Major draw-back: NO WIFI.

The official press release from LG see here, for pictures: here.

Will steal for AdSense revenue
A friend pointed out a blog called voipniche, which has some interesting posts in it. Like this one, this one, and even this one. If they look familiar to you, it's because they have lifted them from this blog, verbatim, with no attribution.

Let's see if this is an automated process, or if there is a real live thief behind this AdSense scam.

VOIPNICHE.COM REPOSTS ITEMS FROM EUROTELCOBLOG WITH NO ATTRIBUTION AND WITHOUT PERMISSION

I'll be curious to see if this post turns up there later today.

UPDATE: Less than two minutes later, the post indeed appeared on the site. Looks like voipniche is a direct RSS-reader-to-splog bot of some sort. What a wickedly ingenious development! I used Centralops to look up the domain. Seems to be registered to someone in Mumbai, but the traceroute ends in Brazil. Who knows, who cares? Enjoy that AdSense money, whoever you are!

Cumulative Leakage
Engineer William Pohts, native son of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania (home of Phil) recently explained the Cumulative Leakage Index to those of us not in the know. It seems some radio astronomer was having problems with his equipment because the cable was leaking in his neighborhood. Bill wrote: All systems leak to a certain extent. If the leakage causes interference to certain

Journalists Seeking Jobs on YouTube
Television journalists and photojournalists are uploading their customary resume tapes to YouTube and sending out a short pitch and a link to get the attention of hiring managers. And it seems the managers like this much better than getting a physical tape. It turns out that it is much easier to share the work of the prospective hire with others around the station.

The same goes for B-Roll and VNRs for the public relations set. Let s get with it folks, the DVD and tape are so 1990s!

By using technology in this way, you can then easily embed the video into your own website or blog without all the trouble of hosting. Check out how reporter Mike Daniels did just that.

And in case you aren t tired of this yet, here are more resume tapes of reporters on YouTube and not so impressive, a list of Video News Releases on YouTube.
